The Little Drummer Girl

First published in 1983, this is set in the arena of the Middle East conflict and it's a story of love, torn loyalties and complex moral issues. Don't dismiss it as a 'spy thriller' just because it's by Le Carre. It's a terrific read. It's also, apparently, one of John Grisham's favourite books- he has been quoted as saying he re-reads it every few years. Find out why.
