This is an extraordinary book. A French doctor, Alain Bombard, sets out to prove a medical theory he has - that it's possible to survive at sea living off the products of the sea. He was apparently inspired to research the subject after reading about deaths from shipwrecks. But not only does he research it, he sets off with a friend on a 2 month journey from Monaco to the US to prove his theory. Amazing stuff - interesting to anyone but people who like messing about in boats will probably find it particularly interesting.
