Nelle Scanlan was a well-known journalist and author in NZ. She wrote a series of successful novels - the Pencarrow novels. This book is her autobiography and tells of her beginnings in Picton, her early work for the Manawatu Times just after WWI broke out and her travels, work and novels. It's warm and engaging and gives an insight into the times.
