Ellen Roberts travelled to New Zealand from England in the early 1900s to visit her brothers who had emigrated here. She fell in love with the country and stayed. "In these three small islands practically every type of scenic beauty exists, and in few can New Zealand be surpassed." 

She loved the great outdoors and her book covers sheep stations, fishing, working dogs and other aspects of New Zealand life at the time.  All illustrated with lots of great black and white photos.
