by Thomas Firbank
A wonderful autobiographical account of 21-year old Thomas who buys a 2400 acre sheep farm in Wales in 1930. With no experience of farming. He throws himself into farming with enthusiasm and paints a wonderful image of Dyffryn and all the challenges he is faced with. His wife, Esme, embraces the lifestyle with equal enthusiasm and this is a lovely read covering the whole experience from the purchase to lambing, dealing with a big snow falls, trying to run a snack bar in the summer and plenty of other plans.
This was published in 1940, This is a hardback edition with no dust jacket, but in very good condition, reprinted in 1946.
