A memoir of life in a Soviet Gulag (work camp) told from the perspective of an employee of the secret police. At just 22 years old Mocholsky was sent to oversee a gulag in the far north of the country. He finds illness, death, despair and brutal forced labour. 

An interesting account. 

Hardback. Published 2011. This is in excellent condition but is a cancelled library book - so has a stamp in the inside front cover. It doesn't look like anyone took it out of the library. They should have. It's an interesting read.
