Early Warning by Jane Smiley

Early Warning by Jane Smiley is the second novel in her Langdon family trilogy, following Some Luck. It opens in 1953, when a funeral brings the family together.

This is sweeping family-saga territory. While that isn’t usually my thing, Smiley is a wonderful writer, and readers who enjoy following a family’s story across generations will find this a tempting next read.

A choice for those continuing the trilogy or exploring more of Jane Smiley’s fiction.
