"I am always drawn back to places where I have lived, the houses and their neighbourhoods..." begins Breakfast at Tiffany's as the narrator, Fred, recalls his time living above Holly Golightly in an old brownstone "my first New York apartment."
Start reading and it's easy to see why this is a classic, it's engaging from the get go and beautifully written.
