by John Howard Griffin

In the late 1950s, journalist Griffin darkened his skin and headed to the deep South of the US to discover what life was like there as a black man.  This was during the Civil Rights movement and he quickly discovered that being black in the South wasn't great. When he finished his experiment he published this slim book about his experience  - he didn't expect much recognition for it but it sold 10 million copies and became a bit of a modern classic.

Published 1960.

Paperback edition. In good condition
