Away With All Pests - An English Surgeon in People's China

Dr Horn studied medicine in the 1930s and then travelled to China in 1937  as a ship's surgeon. He then returned to China several years later with his wife and young family and practised medicine. This is his account of that time - he tells us of particular cases and the poverty of many of his patients. It's a fascinating glimpse into the China of the time and the health service of the time.
